Something interesting happened on Friday in the wild world of Guns ‘n’ MAGA. Kenosha Killer Kyle Rittenhouse posted on X that he no longer supports Delulu Dunderhead Donald Trump and will not vote for him in November.

Instead, Rittenhouse said he will be voting for Libertarian Party politician and former legislator Ron Paul, who, as far as I know, is not running for president. (Or senator…or governor…or any office. Look, I’m just going to keep it real with y’all—and I say this with no ill intent and nothing but well wishes for the man—I had no idea Ron Paul was still alive.)

“A lot of people are upset that I said that I’m going to be writing in Ron Paul for president of the United States. And that is true, I will be writing in Ron Paul,” Rittenhouse said in a video. “Unfortunately, Donald Trump had bad advisers making him bad on [the] Second Amendment and that is my issue. If you cannot be completely uncompromisable on the Second Amendment, I will not vote for you.”

But hours later, after an apparent surge of Trump supporters responded by publicly questioning Rittenhouse’s sexuality in a series of social media posts, the acquitted murderer reversed course and deleted his own anti-Trump social media posts.

Rittenhouse replaced them with another post that completely undermined the original point he was trying to make and essentially blamed his own ignorance for his original social media posts.

“Over the past 12 hours, I’ve had a series of productive conversations with members of the Trump’s team and I am confident he will be the strong ally gun owners need to defend our Second Amendment rights,” Rittenhouse also posted on Friday. “My comments made last night were ill-informed and unproductive. I’m 100% behind Donald Trump and encourage every gun owner to join me in helping send him back to the White House.”

Rittenhouse pinned that post to the top of his feed on X, formerly Twitter.

According to NBC Montana: “The Trump administration banned bump stocks, which enable semi-automatic guns to mimic the fire rate of machine guns, in a regulation later found to be unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. The former president also signed the Fix NICS Act, which increases accountability for states that don’t upload certain records to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System.”

Imagine that: Trump, at one point during his presidency came through with a simple, common sense, bare minimum gun regulation policy—which was struck down by the Supreme Court that hates civil protections, women’s reproductive rights, affirmative action and, apparently, public safety—and it was for that reason that Rittenhouse, the MAGA world’s favorite gun-toting sweetheart, initially said he would no longer support the president he leaned on after whining that Joe Biden wasn’t returning his phone calls.

It appears that Rittenhouse wasn’t impressed that Trump claimed in May that the Second Amendment was “under siege, promised in February to beef up Second Amendment security and argued last year that mass shootings had nothing to do with guns. Trump is out here acting like he wants to put bump stocks in children’s cereal boxes, and Rittenhouse was basically like, “Nah—you don’t mess with guns like that, for real, for real.”

What’s interesting about Rittenhouse is that for all of his crying and bellyaching over how he has been treated since he was acquitted of murdering two people and injuring a thirdhe sure does seem to enjoy going out of his way to remind everyone that he shot people. Go figure.
