Why Is The Trump Organization Selling ‘Trump 2028’ Merch?

Look, I hate the president more than you. If the president only has 300 haters, then I’m one of them. If something happens and somehow the president only has two haters, then it’s me and someone else. And if for some reason the president doesn’t have any haters, then that means sadly, I’ve passed.
But I have to admit that there are a few times where I actually admire the president’s hustle and this is one of those times.
Apparently, the Trump Organization is selling “Trump 2028” hats, because they are trying to normalize the idea of the president running for an unconstitutional third term in the White House.
From USA Today:
The online Trump store on April 24 began selling red ballcaps with “Trump 2028” embroidered on the front for $50.
The store is operated by the Trump Organization, the Trump family’s company, not Trump’s campaign committee, which operates a different online store where the same hat is, for the time being, not on sale.
The Trump War Room, run by Trump’s campaign operation, posted a photo on X of a smiling Eric Trump wearing the hat.
Since returning to the White House for a second term, Trump has repeatedly teased running for president again in 2028, even though doing so is explicitly barred by the 22nd Amendment, which states, “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”
Which means that the president cannot run for a third term. Or can he? See, the president of people who would love to see him in the White House indefinitely, is always scheming.
Earlier this year, during an event at the White House for Black History Month, Trump asked the attendees: “Should I run again? You tell me. There’s your controversy right there.”
Then, in March during an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Trump doubled down on a third term, noting that, “I’m not joking.”
“A lot of people want me to do it,” he said. “But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”
When asked how that could happen when, it’s you know, unconstitutional, Trump explained the scheme he’d run.
“There are methods which you could do it,” including having Vice President JD Vance run for president with Trump as his running mate and then once elected, Vance would step down thus giving Trump another four years in office.
Trump also warned: “There are others, too,” but he refused to share what those ways are.
USA Today notes that in order to change the Constitution, “an amendment can be proposed by Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House and Senate, or two-thirds of state legislatures can call a constitutional convention. Then three-fourths of the state legislatures or conventions (38 of 50) must ratify it.”
But why would any of that matter when Trump has never cared about the Constitution?
