Texas Mother Arrested After Creating Drink For Son’s Alleged Bully That Made Him Sick

A Texas mother was arrested after sending her son to school with a drink that she created as she directed him to give it to a classmate she claimed bullied her son.

According to NBC News, 45-year-old Jennifer Lynn Rossi was arrested and charged with injury to a child resulting in bodily injury based on records with the Bexar County Jail. She has been accused of making a “sports drink” that contained lemon, salt, and vinegar, pouring it into a sports drink bottle to “prevent her son’s drink from being stolen at school by other students.” Her son’s alleged bully was taken to the hospital after consuming the concoction.

On the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, police officers said they went to Legacy Traditional School – Alamo Ranch after being summoned about a sick student. When they arrived, they were told that a classmate had given the sick child a drink during a physical education class. After he drank the contents of the bottle, he began experiencing nausea and a headache.

After an investigation, police officers discovered that Rossi provided the mixed drink to her son to “allegedly prevent her son’s drink from being stolen at school by other students.”

“Although, the contents of the drink were non-toxic, the incident resulted in a child being hospitalized. Hospital staff informed the investigator that the child victim required additional medical monitoring and would eventually be discharged from the hospital,” it states on the Facebook page.

The son, in a written statement, said that his prime drink was missing during recess the previous day and that the boy he gave the drink to “said he had it and kept bragging about it,” according to authorities. When he arrived home from school that day, he told his mother what happened, and she “had an idea to prank” the young boy.

The victim told authorities that the son “accused him” and “someone tried to hit him” for allegedly taking the prime drink.

Rossi did tell police officers that she “only intended to stop her child from being bullied” and that she “is a nurse and knows the mixture to be non-toxic,” according to the affidavit.
