Police identify man killed in southeast Austin homicide
AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Wednesday, the Austin Police Department identified the man killed in southeast Austin early Monday morning.
Police said officers responded to a call at approximately 3:38 a.m. in the 2900 block of South U.S. Highway 183 southbound.
According to APD, 31-year-old Rigoberto Castro-Momner was found lying on the ground outside of a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene at 3:54 a.m.
APD said homicide detectives and crime scene specialists then responded.
As of Wednesday, APD said the investigation was ongoing, and there have not been any arrests. This case is being investigated as Austin’s 11th homicide of 2024.
