GOP Plans To Get Rid Of Black Lives Matter Plaza In Washington D.C. Because…Well, You Know

In today’s episode of MAGA Legislators Turning White Fragility Into Policy, House Republicans are planning to rid white America of the Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington D.C., which is somehow part of a GOP effort to “make our nation’s capital safe.”

That’s right, y’all, the party of officials who believe Jan. 6 rioters were “political prisoners” is looking to ditch the space the New York Post’s conservative columnist for Caucasian tears, Jon Levine, described as a “two-block woke eyesore.” (This is as good a day as ever to remind folks that I rue the day white people discovered the word “woke.”)

“The House Oversight Committee and the Trump Administration are working on delivering several reforms to make our nation’s capital safe and end left-wing pet projects,” House Oversight Committee chair Rep. James Comer (R-Ky) said. “This includes addressing partisan abuses by the District government such as Black Lives Matter Plaza.”

Ahhh yes — we simply must keep the citizens of Washington D.C. “safe” from an intimate strip of land lest innocent people get brutally attacked by, well, the phrase “Black Lives Matter” written in really big yellow block letters. (Nah, it really is a safety issue. We just can’t have people slipping and falling while walking two blocks that are just saturated in the white tears of melted right-wing snowflakes.)

Besides the clear racism, conservative hypocrisy has just gotten annoying at this point. Comer is out here bloviating about “left-wing pet projects” as if President Donald Trump’s administration isn’t serving as a moving shrine to right-wing ideology. Who the hell do right-wingers think Trump renamed the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” for? Who do Comer and his ilk think Trump was looking to appease by restoring the Confederate names of military bases? Whose praises do they think Trump is looking to bathe in with his promise to declare English America’s official language?

Every single thing about the Trump administration has been one giant, disastrous right-wing pet project (2025). Nothing Trump and his MAGA-fied GOP have done has been for the betterment of America as a whole. It’s all been about making America a right-wing utopia again. That’s it and that’s all!
